James Ontiveros has announced the release of his 2006
Native 9 /Rancho Ontiveros Pinot Noir. Ninety-nine cases of this wine were produced. The 2006 Native 9/Rancho Ontiveros Pinot Noir is comprised of the Swan, Benedict, 2A and Pommard Clones.
The Rancho Ontiveros Vineyard is located off of Dominion Road, in the Santa Maria Valley. The small, 8-acre estate vineyard is on the Ontiveros family homestead and cattle ranch.
The Native 9 wine label was conceptualized by James Ontiveros, and features the Santa Barbara Bit, a nod to the Ontiveros’ long-standing family history in California agriculture. For 9 generations, they have farmed and run cattle in the Golden State. The label artwork was created by noted Western Cowboy Hall of Fame Artist, Robert “ Shoofly” Shufelt.
